Midnight Coffee

Midnight coffee. It’s just something she did to relieve her stress, or to prevent her from crying herself to bed.

She made sure the coffee was super hot, she made sure it burned her tongue. And she made sure it hurt.

The door flew open and a man stood there. It almost slipped her mind that she’s married now. The man suddenly sat next to her and hugged her without any word spoken. He hugged her tighter than anyone–even her parents–ever had.

And somehow it was more effective that any hot coffee she’d ever drunk.
